For the curious:  Royal Windsor was a trading name and recognized back stamp of Hammersley China (founded in 1862) and had been used for years by the Hammersley family in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. The Hammersleys also traded under the name Palissy.
Royal Worcester Spode acquired Palissy in 1958.  Aynsley acquired the Hammersley China back stamp and trading name as well as some copyrighted patterns and decals in the 1950s as well. Anysley, by association, also acquired the rights to Royal Windsor.
